The Monthly Roundup - August

And just like that it’s the tail end of summer, which means the back to school vibes of September are upon us and it’s time for the August Love List - a glimpse into the books, places and programmes I’ve been loving this month.

1 Watching…

Painkiller on Netflix. A chilling and thought provoking drama based on the real life events of the opiod epidemic in America. I was addicted and literally couldn’t pull myself away.

2 Reading…

Demon Copperhead by Barbara Kingsolver. It’s a chunky tome of 500+ pages but it’s an epic tale of love, loss and lack of luck and it’ll hold your attention. Beautifully written, complex and captivating.

3 Walking…

Along the river Thames. I love to park near Ham House and stroll from there along the river to Richmond Bridge. This stretch of walk just soothes my soul. Peaceful, ever changing and you’ll pass very close by to…

4 Petersham Nurseries…

If you’ve never been then go! This treasure of a place has a garden centre selling a fabulous plants (a little above the average price but excellent quality), a Michelin starred restaurant (I’m talking small mortgage so strictly very special treats only), a glass teahouse serving light lunches, cakes and coffee (affordable and no need to book) and a gorgeous shop selling all kinds of loveliness for your home. It’s high on my list of happy places.

What are you loving this month?
